In addition to providing our viewers with delightful aquarium design ideas, these photographs are intended to illustrate the variability and wide spectrum of a fish’s appearance. Factors affecting appearance include temperature, stress level, diet, aquarium shadow level and substrate darkness (the less and lighter, the more colorful the fish will be), in-water vs out of water, as well as differences between baby discus and adult specimens.
