A: Upon receiving your new discus fish, float the unopened bags in your aquarium for 30 to 45 minutes with the aquarium lights turned off. After 45 minutes, open each bag, catch the fish with a net, and release it into your aquarium. Do not dump the water from the fish bags in your aquarium. Keep the aquarium lights off for at least 2 hours after releasing your fish.
