Hi yes the fish got here ok and he is beautiful. I have him in the quarantine tank and he has a bit of tail rot on his tail and a few white patches on his side that looks like cotton I assume it’s fungal so I been treating him with meleflex  and fritz Maracyn is that the right treatment or do you suggest something else?

Hi Michael, so nice to hear from you!  I’ve attached a couple pix of my discus, and wish I could get more!  I will certainly buy from you when the time is right, but between having to cut back a couple years ago due to a severe drought (I have well water) that forced me to sell some of my fish, and more recent health issues, I can’t indulge in my hobby as I’d like too.  It’s awfully tempting when I see the quality and selection of discus you have, though!

The first pix is the day I introduced the young Santarems to my 75g tank.  They were bred by Tom Muller (CoralBandit) of African Chiclid fame.  I belonged to a small group of discus lovers on an online forum, who welcomed me into their ‘club’ when I first got into discus.  We had all bought some 2.5” - 3.0” babies at about the same time, so it turned into whose were growing fastest, and did anyone get a breeding pair.  Of course Tom (the ‘fish whisperer’) won!  Amazingly he had two pair off and successfully raise a good sized batch of babies before the pair was a year old!  The second pix is of my two Turks (who were 6” & 8” respectively) that I ended up selling when my well almost dried up.

All My Best,

Barbara

Hi Michael,

Everything is going well, and discus are thriving.

I did suffer one loss after about a month. But he was the smallest of the pack and didn't do so well when establishing a pecking order.

The rest are doing very well. I have one established pair. They laid eggs twice now. They even hatched the first time, but unfortunately, all disappeared on the 4th day.

Sad, but I didn't have anywhere to separate them from the community.

They have a wealthy diet of beef heart, blood worms, brine shrimp, and spirulina mix. All are eating well and healthy so far.

I have a 60-gallon tank with two canisters and UV sterilizer on the timer hooked directly to one of the canister filters.

I wish I had more room for them, but that is all I can do in my small two-bedroom apartment.

It really means a lot you are checking in.

So thank you very much.

You've outdone yourself in my last order, so there are no recommendations from my end. Your service and fish selection are terrific!

Thanks again.

Zoya

The other 2 fish in this order were excellent, but this red ring, the most expensive fish I've gotten so far from discus.com, showed up sickly. Skin looks like it's peeling, swims sideways, dark, just overall unwell appearing. Disappointed seeing as this was the most expensive and I was very excited about this fish. He also doesn't have any rings, which I was really hoping for.

The heckel fish seems to be improving, looking healthier, eating, more energetic so I'm hoping he'll pull through and mature nicely. The red ring leopard seems to be the one struggling the most, he's swimming sideways, very dark, looks like his skin is peeling, just overall sickly. But he's eating and the food is medicated. Here is a video I just took of him. The other two from that delivery look really nice, they are very beautiful fish and healthy.
