Good morning Michael,
Thank you for thinking of me and reaching out. All is well, I hope the same for you. My husband works on the military installation and knew a guy that was going over seas and had to rehome his discus and cardinals so I was lucky enough that my husband was in the right place at that right time or so I thought. I lost all of the discus and now the cardinals are dying off one by one. So now I'm not sure what I want to do. Apparently I'm not cut out for these sensitive type fish. I do love the plants in my tank so maybe I'll just focus on my plants for now! Thanks again for reaching out. I hope you have an amazing rest of your day. By the way the beautiful big anubis plants in the background are the ones I ordered from you.

I was initially thrilled with what I believed was a proven breeding pair of discus—until I discovered the truth: the two fish, despite being sold as a bonded male and female pair, had never laid eggs and were not compatible. That’s $600 spent on a misleading claim.
When I contacted customer service to address the issue, they were polite but the “solution” came at my own expense. I had to purchase two more fish, bringing the total to four discus for $800. Not only did the new additions fail to resolve the issue, but now I have aggressive fish constantly fighting. The scars in the attached photo? Caused by the male. I was fortunate the female didn’t die from the resulting infection.
To make things worse, customer service later texted me implying I hadn’t been “appreciative enough.” Shortly after, I noticed a surprise $25 charge on my credit card—when I asked about it, they casually said it was for extra shipping. No notice. No consent. Just a charge.
If you’re considering buying from this company based on the promise of a true breeding pair, think again. You may end up with four fighting fish, surprise fees, and a customer service experience that punishes you for speaking up.
From Michael: We correctly represent all the pairs we sell on our website -- we have received viable fry and babies (that we often sell on our website in smaller sizes) from each proven pair we list. It's important to note that pairs may not immediately re-spawn upon being introduced in a customer's tank and can take up to 6 months to resume breeding behavior. Past success never guarantees future results, and needless to say, with live tropical fish, a host of variables exist that will have an impact on breeding viability. 2 weeks upon receipt, the customer began complaining and initially accused us of shipping him 2 males, which he never apologized for.
The customer failed to mention he purchased a total of $1500+ worth of fish in this order and was pleased the remaining $1k+ of the fish he received outside of the pair in question. When the complaints continued a few months later, we proposed a solution the customer agreed with. We ended up taking a big loss on this order attempting to rectify the situation despite the fact that we did absolutely nothing wrong, and the customer alternated between heaping praise upon us and complaining all along the way.

I am so happy to be the first to review these and LOVE them. They are small so the color is still coming in but I can already tell they above all are very heathy and show great potential. I think when buying an animal like these Genetics and over all tank helth come before the "look" but these animals have it all! After 2 weeks I have seen noticeable growth and they act like food is free!! Thank you! Next Order Coming up! We must talk :)

Incredible little Discus. I was told nothing but good things about Discus.com and the seriousness of the breeders and genetics they work with and so far I am very happy. I ordered in a Trio of Blues and Panteras and both Trios are Perfect. I have them in quaretine tanks and they are destroying everything I put in the tank.
In short you're going to see a lot of my business if its all as good as this first transaction. New Customer who knows genetics and quality. I am Picky....and VERY Happy. Thank you.
