Imagine driving through a desert road with no-one in sight but you and your loved one. The music is playing softly and the air conditioner keeping you cool in this dry climate. The panorama view of the piercing red skies and the subtle sandy landscape beneath are breathtaking, tempting you to slow down and take a picture because it truly is so rare. To find a fish swimming in a desert is also unheard of, but the colors of the Blue-Faced Heckel Alenquer resemble just that! The deep fiery red that commands your attention and forces you to take a look is exactly the power of this fish.

As you continue driving, you begin to see black streaks forming in the rouge sky, indicating that soon night will fall. In the distance you notice a bright iridescent glimmer that intrigues you and the closer you get you realize it’s a stream of water! The illumination of the water resembles the shiny, holographic texture of this fish The black stripes across the body , together with the red and beige paint this sunset desert sky dream. The Blue-Faced Heckel Alenquer Cross Discus would be an exuberant addition to any aquarium!

Michael, thank you so much for caring about your customer's experience. My wife and I are beyond thrilled with our new tank friends. The "Cobalt Blue" is a gorgeous creature we are totally captivated by. The other 2 are awesome as well although the youngest of the 3 seems to be lagging the others in his acclimation. Lights are still off and all 3 have eaten.

I'm happy to share some pictures of them and my tank. I was disheartened to learn that an additional separate tank would be preferred way to work them into general population. I do have plans for a 3rd tank down the road, but did not have a spare tank to facilitate this approach. Hope they're okay.

    I've attached some images.

If you see anything that strikes a concern, please don't hesitate. The tank is just a month old and I'm learning so much.

    Sincerely,

    Gordon
