The thick line super checkerboard discus is a flat fish with a complicated striations pattern that distinguish it from other members of the discus family. It is aptly named as its lines intersect in a way that resembles a checkerboard. Location, diet and health may have a bearing on its color and appearance. However, Checkerboard discus in possession of thicker, more defined lines, a distinctly round shape and strong and bold coloration are more popular and generally cost more.

This discus is a pigeon bred, brilliantly colored fish adorned and delineated in a variety of striated thick, thin and pearled bold colors ranging from white to turquoise, orange and a deep red. These colors match their rather striking reddish amber eyes giving them a dazzling look.

Fish came healthy with great color and good pattern but smaller size again. It was 2.5 inch instead of 3 to 3 1/2 inch. This is my 3rd fish out of my order that is smaller than ordered.

From Michael: Be mindful how you're measuring the fish. We only measure from tip of nose to end of tail, so your expectations may vary, especially if you are focusing solely on the body.
