If you were a child growing up in the 70’s or 80’s getting into the aquarium hobby, chances are the discus you encountered in a book is this exact fish! For classic discus keepers, the Tefe Red-Spotted-Green (or RSG for short) is the textbook definition of what a wild discus should be. Red spots appear scattered throughout the body of the fish, which possesses a green/yellow/brown base with hints of blue tones.

I ended up putting in sand and HOB filter because it's much easier to see and clean up the uneaten food and the reflection off the bottom seemed to be adding to their stress. I've done partial WC everyday sometimes 2 times a day to make sure I get all food.

    PH - 6.8

    Ammonia - 0

    Nitrites 0

Nitrates 20 ppm (that's how it comes out of tap)

    Temp -88

Added a little bit of salt and stress guard

I'm very pleased overall. I just wish they would eat and I'm worried about the Tefe and the nose of the Rafflesia. I'm going to go try and find some Paraguard. I'll keep you posted.
